Mount Dora has applied to HUD and state agencies for funds to buy eight undeveloped acres north of Gilbert Park. Developer Allan Jones ownership of the lakeview land and possible exchanges were discussed but not pursued. City logs pre-application results by March 30 with $100,000 land value cited.

Sailing Regatta Planned in Mount Dora This Spring
The 22nd Annual Sailing Regatta sanctioned by the Florida Sailing Association will be held April 5 and 6 in Mount Dora. Chairman C H Hank Thompson says about 300 sailors have been invited. The event, by Mount Dora Yacht Club and Chamber of Commerce, will feature prams canoes Hobie Cats and other racing craft.
