VA Implements Law on Medicine for Veterans
Melvin T. Dixon of the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs says Public Law 88-664 Section 8 authorizes the VA to furnish drugs to veterans with non service connected pensions and aid and attendance benefits. About $28,000 is set aside for April to June to begin supplying medications, while February and March require veterans to pay. From April 1, those veterans must mail prescriptions from a licensed physician to the VA for processing and direct shipment of medicines.
