Evening Of Fun Slated March 4 At Concert Here

The Florida Symphony Orchestra under Henry Mazer performs its annual pop concert in Mount Dora on March 4 at 8 p.m. at the Community Building. Selections from Hello Dolly My Fair Lady Sound of Music Call Me Madame Pajama Game headline the program with four soloists Anne Brazzo Florence Soldinger Bernie Bailie and Jack Thompson. The 100 member orchestra is among Florida’s top ensembles and pianist Dwight Charles will accompany. This marks the 14th Mount Dora appearance and the only concert of the series here this year.

Bob's Equipment Hosts All Day Open House on Saturday

Four Hurt In Weekend Collisions On Old 441 Mount Dora

Four persons were injured Saturday night in a two car crash at Old 441A and Helm Road in Mount Dora. Injured were Claude Fralick Jr and his brother-in-law George E. Blank, with Mrs. Anna Marie Almer hospitalized. Almer's car skidded on wet pavement and struck Fralick’s vehicle. both were within legal speeds. A separate collision at Old 441 and Greenway injured no one, and a Sunday crash at Helm Road and Old 441 involved Andrew A. Gross and David H. Harringer with about $300 damage and no charges.

Mount Dora Seeks Four Lanes On Key Highways

The city asks the Lake County Commission to four lane Old 441 near the Golden Triangle Shopping Center or add acceleration and deceleration lanes. They also urge four laning Florida Road 19 from the center to the Highway 441 overpass south of Eustis and widening State Road 46 to Sanford. Highland Street to the south city limits is proposed for widening to restore tourist traffic.
