Tag Day for Lake County Hospital

Lake County residents are urged to support Tag Day benefiting Lake County Medical Center in Mount Dora. Charity care and pay patients are served by the hospital which aims to raise 350 dollars as a second payment toward a new table and equipment. Mrs. Harry T. Fenn chairs the hospital committee.

Art League Annual Exhibition Opens at 418 Donnelly Avenue

The Art League holds its annual show daily 9:00 to 12:00 and 2:00 to 5:30, Sunday 2:00 to 5:30. Artists from Eustis and Mount Dora display oils water colors pencil portraits landscapes seascapes and sculpture by Mrs. Bernice West Gratz. Local students and foreign works from Spain Italy and France enrich the exhibit.

Must Have Taxes Paid To Vote In School Election

Mount Dora calls a school election for Tuesday next March 2nd. Voters must have paid 1935 and 1936 taxes to vote plus 1936 personal property or real estate taxes. Current trustees E B Ferson J M McCown and J M Smith seek re election. The ballot also sets the millage for current expenses at about ten mills.

Evangelist Barnes Heads to Center Hill for Mission Work

Evangelist and Mrs. J. O. Barnes leave Mount Dora this week for Center Hill where Mr Barnes will conduct mission work for the Church of Christ and later return. He has served Mount Dora for fifteen months and helped establish a new worship home on Rossie Terrace Street with growing membership. Worship will continue each Lord's Day at the usual hour.

Crowther couple to tour across country in spring

Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Crowther plan a cross country motor trip starting from Mount Dora in mid March. They will travel to California via Texas, visit historic spots, return through the National Parks and come back to Boston by early July. This will be their seventh cross country journey.

Mount Dora Winter Regatta at Mount Dora Yacht Club

On February 20 the Mount Dora Winter Regatta opened with motor yachts racing from the Mount Dora Yacht Club pier under a Southerly wind. Judges assigned start times to ensure simultaneous finishes with stop watches determining placings. heavy rain caused postponement to February 27 as windjammers sheltered and power yachts sought slips.
