Seaboard Coast Line officials from Sanford viewed the Mount Dora depot renovation leased to the City for Chamber of Commerce use. Freight Agent Lawrence Wilson and Trainmaster M C Smith joined executive director Jean Cook Jedlicka for a guided tour, noting preservation of original equipment and that the station master occasionally handles railroad business from the desk.

Mount Dora Adds 600 New Telephones in Year
Florida Telephone Corp reports nearly 600 new phones installed in Mount Dora last year. Lake County gains total about 4,480 phones led by Leesburg with 1,000 and Eustis with over 900. Tavares adds over 600 services. Leesburg exchange reaches about 12,700 phones. FTC projects a systemwide rise to 400,000 phones by 1980.
