Assignments include Outcast to Donnelly Park, Carson to Childs Pinecrest Chautauqua Sylvan and Stein Parks, Shipley to Gilbert Park, Hinz to Evans Park, and Wiederhold to the park behind the public library. William Wall hired to maintain smaller parks at $275 monthly. Founders Circle proposes irrigation at Chautauqua Park. City Council approval requested.
Local builder Herbert S. Starr president of M. A. A. Inc. proposes a one story office complex on 12 acres he owns on the former golf driving range site in Mount Dora The land between Mount Dora Media Home Center and Triangle Elementary School opposite Triangle Lanes bowling alley is zoned commercial.
The city lost electricity for 1 to 3 hours last Saturday when a Florida Power Corporation switch blew at Tremain Street and Lincoln Avenue. Flames rose 30 feet as a hole opened in the switch bottom. A warehouse switch from Winter Park was used to restore power after 2 p.m. repair crews worked until midnight. cause remained unknown Tuesday.
