Mount Dora to Burya Spirit of 76 Time Capsule Ceremony
Mount Dora marks Bicentennial Day with a 2 p.m. burial of a one ton time capsule named Spirit of 76 in Donnelly Park. American Legion Auxiliary Unit 35 led by Mrs Noyes crowds out exhibits and dignitaries including Lt. Gov. Jim Williams and Mayor Tom Champion. The capsule capped by granite from the first Capitol, flown over the U.S. Capitol, stays sealed for 100 years.

About 20 Thistle class sailboats are expected in Mount Dora for races on Lake Dora this Sunday. One race is planned in the morning and two in the afternoon over a course in front of the Mount Dora Yacht Club. Sailors from Orlando and elsewhere will compete. a clubhouse reception follows.
