The Lake County Press Association held its February monthly supper in Leesburg at the Commercial office to honor Groundhog Day and a late birthday for Gilbert Leach. President Hoover May Visit Mount Dora This Month

Mount Dora hosts reports that President Herbert Hoover may visit the town later this month. No official confirmation exists, but plans suggest Hoover will spend several days to a week visiting former President Calvin Coolidge, who plans to stay in Mount Dora into March. Eustis Editor Narrowly Escapes Injury

M. E. Brewster editor of the Eustis Lake Region escaped serious injury Tuesday night when his car plunged from the Highland avenue bridge over the railroad tracks. A passerby clinging from a Public Service pole helped right the vehicle as it struck. Brewster was only slightly hurt and continued home after the wrecker cleared the scene.

Frank Heath To Leave April Ist

Frank Heath announced he will leave his Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce post on April 1st. The Marquette board of directors elected him unanimously to head the new office. President Philip B. Spear will visit Mount Dora to discuss plans for a vigorous push to promote northern Michigan tourism featuring Marquette as a top destination. Heath indicated this summer return to the north after considering several offers, with no immediate replacement named. He will guide the chamber program until departure and continue overseeing the recreational department and yacht club activities.
