Lake County Pupils Get Type A Meals In School Lunches

Lake County joins 27 white and Negro schools in a Type A school lunch program serving about 3000 meals daily with Federal support. Schools receive 8 cents per plate with milk or 6 cents without. average $5,000 monthly from Federal income plus $3,207.05 for equipment. State Welfare Board commodity distributions add citrus concentrate, potatoes, green beans, onions, apples, tomatoes, carrots, and chest products. Prices to children range from 10 to 25 cents. Mount Dora districts participate.

Lions Club progresses after illness of president and toy drive

Lions News reports the club held a short business meeting Friday night with plans depending on a Lions win. Proceeds from two pins went to the March of Dimes. Prize winners included Prinz, Brooks, Alvarez, and Connelly. Bowdish announced gifts for Crippled Children's Home at Umatilla and called for more toys and funny books to aid the children.
