The U turn loop at Donnelly Street has been widened and resurfaced to add parking for bowlers and lakeside visitors. In 1937 Mount Dora Woman's Club helped fund construction with a $50 contribution from the bowling club. A new brass president tablet replaces the old wooden version, thanks to Abram Hatfield. Friday bridge night reported eight tables with top scores to Ethel Hicks and Arthur Jewell. A Sabbath verse concludes the piece, urging rest and contentment.

Mount Dora Teams Struggle in Local Conference Toward Season’s End
Mount Dora will participate in the Central Florida Conference Tournament February 8 to 11 in the local gym. The Mount Dora girls, the Canettes, beat Lyman 43 to 37 led by Joyce Moon's 23 points, while Norma Jeanne Wise added 11 and Edith Carlton 6. Lyman led 24-19 at halftime, but Mount Dora's defense allowed only 5 points in the fourth as they pulled away. Oviedo defeated Mount Dora 47-42 in girls action, with Norma Jeanne scoring 16 and Joyce 15. In boys action, Lyman beat Mount Dora 67-36, and Oviedo topped Mount Dora 83-42, with Jeff Ray leading the Canes in scoring.
