Mount Dora Bowling Club Yearend Party Closes 1956
The Mount Dora Bowling club held its Christmas party on December 19 to cap social activities for 1956. Col Paul Bronson read a Christmas story and a high school quartet sang under Mrs Rosemary Bennett’s direction. Donations went to Christian Home and Bible School, with a $200 check presented by President Charles Skoglund.

The Judge Willmott event drew 82 players from Friday morning to the next day with prizes led by Bert Owen at $10, Euba Boggs $7.50, Rush Boggs $5, and Walter Peters $1. Ed Pecker celebrated his 90th birthday at Simpson hotel with cake shaped like 9 and 0. Miss Alice Brooks arrived to spend Christmas with her parents. The L V Thetfords returned from six weeks in northern Europe and settled in for a sunny season. The club approved a $25 donation to the East Town swimming pool fund.
