The deadline for War Ration Book One sugar applications has moved from December 15 1942 to January 15 1943. Call the Ration Board Office if you have not obtained your sugar book or your fuel oil and kerosene rations. Pick up Tire Inspection Records and ensure car owners keep them in the vehicle. Gasoline ration coupons A B and C remain three gallons each. Occupation mileage and preferred mileage require economizing. Certificates of War Necessity must be taken to the Local Rationing Board for book issuance.

Ernest Minkley Returns Home From Navy Training

Ernest Minkley, home from Newport Rhode Island where he trains at Torpedo School Naval Training Station, spends Christmas furlough with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Curt Minkley and family. He resembles his sister Eleanore more than ever, likes the Navy but says the best part is coming home. He reports thorough training with little time for anything but intensive study and aims to see action soon.
