Witnesses said the vehicle, driven by two men, sped through town and dragged him about 100 feet. two arrests reported and a car owner with brakes defective. Richey, a prominent local leader active in road improvements, served 11 years on the board and helped secure federal road work. He leaves a large family with funeral services held at Morrison Memorial Methodist Church and graveside rites by the Leesburg Masonic Lodge.

Tom Parker of Mount Dora sang a bass solo in the annual The Messiah at Stetson University last Sunday afternoon. The Handel oratorio was performed by the Stetson chorus of 108 voices with the university symphony orchestra of 36 instruments. Parker is a sophomore in the school of music.
