Mount Dora’s new nine hole golf course opened for play December 15 under ideal weather. A starting foursome led by Willard Dodsworth and J M Turner teed off at 10 a m after which visitors from Orlando joined. Pro Stanley Kuznick operated the new pro shop as crowds inspected the velvety greens and fairways and learned playing rules. The project was completed without bonds or borrowing, a point locals praise as unusual. Citizens praise the public spirited effort behind the course which Mount Dora now holds as a valuable asset for residents and visitors.
