Dr. Robert F. Vason, 56, a Mount Dora dentist and civic leader, died December 7 in a Fern Park traffic accident. He lived at 1610 Crestview Drive and was a World War II Army veteran who moved to Mount Dora in 1946. Funeral services were held at First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora with interment at Pine Forest Cemetery.

Lou Heaton former Mount Dora mayor and council member died Saturday December 7 after a brief illness. He lived at 2312 Overlook Drive and was 90. Born in Canton New York April 8 1884 he worked 43 years in newspapers in New York City and Philadelphia. He moved to Mount Dora from Flushing 26 years ago. Continued on back page.
