Mount Dora Elects City Clerk and Welcomes New Residents
In Mount Dora the December 12 1935 vote count showed William J. Johnson re elected city clerk treasurer tax collector and assessor by 75 votes over RG Shipes. Mayor M V Simpson and council members Elizabeth Evans Herbert W Harlow L C Jerne and L Grady Simpson were re elected without opposition. A 152 vote turnout marked low interest with no office contests while development continued on the Mount Dora Golf Club course south and east of the Highway 441 bridge.
