Mount Dora re-elects Champion mayor in 55 percent turnout
Tom R. Champion wins a second two year term as mayor, defeating G R M Pearson by 129 votes 705 to 576. Four City Council seats go to Morgan Ray Ill Ward and Van Landingham with 749 713 685 and 661 votes. Joyce Elliott Tommy Houser Pat Leonard and Willie Poole lose in eight way race for council and Harry L Quinn and Milton S Goodholm win park commission seats. 1 304 ballots cast about 55 percent turnout with nine absentees.
