A seventh inning stretch becomes a metaphor for marriages in a discussion of The Seven Year Itch. Psychiatrists note a crisis in the seventh year as couples resist ordinary life and revive long buried desires. December Ice-House production is reviewed for its attempt to portray this theme.
The Woman's association of Mount Dora will hold its annual Christmas party Friday at 2 30 in the chapel. Mrs. Forrest DeGraff leads the program. Members should bring a wrapped gift for a child indicating boy or girl and age for distribution by the King's Daughters.
The IceHouse Players present Seven Year Itch at the Little Theatre. Cast includes Nessa Martz, Ann Travers, Betty Fellows, Richard Sherman, and Dr. Watson Bacon in a production praised for its precise acting and stylish set design by Ed Denton. The show runs through Saturday night at Unserst.
Senior winners were Marion Arey of Montverde and Eleanor Kimball. Juniors were Clarisse Ellis Jackie Byrd of Howey and Emily Wartman of Eustis. Winners earn a trip to the 4-H camp, judged by Mrs. Lovell and Mr. Cornell. Reporter Marilyn Buchanan notes Samuel Smiles quote.
Mount Dora students are named on the Honor Roll for the second six weeks. No grade below a certain level is listed for 12th graders Roberta Aldrich and Patsy Spear. The Mount Dora Junior Woman's Club will host a pre Christmas dance at the American Legion hall on Saturday starting at 9 p.m. Proceeds from the dance will go toward the proposed clinic building.
