Mount Dora Student Wins Florida Press Essay Prize
Jo Brown, Mount Dora High School sophomore, receives a $50 award from contest chairman Robert Britt at the Florida Press association banquet held at the University of Florida Student Center. She won first prize in the association's essay contest on The Role of the Newspaper in the Community. Carl Settle, outgoing FPA president, took third place with his entry. The Mount Dora entry was sponsored by the Topic, which awarded $15 locally.
