The Lake County school board tied on a plan to pay off old bonded indebtedness before new county wide building bonds. Chair Paul Bryan broke the tie voting with Leesburg's Tim Knowles. Fred Adkinson warned the move would mortg age the future and cost 65 classrooms over 13 years. Chester Crowder and Knowles supported the plan. Adkinson and Lacy Thomas opposed.
