Bear photo by Mount Dora woman wins Enquirer contest
Mrs Sonja Beaven formerly of Emerald Drive Mount Dora won The National Enquirer Photo of the Week for a shot of a bear at Milwaukee Zoo. Chosen from 3480 entries, she earns 35 dollars and advances toward a yearly 500 dollar grand prize with husband T R Beaven now in Pennsylvania for schooling.

IceHouse to stage Dracula and seven more for Mount Dora season
IceHouse Players Inc of Mount Dora unveils a 1974/75 season opening with Dracula October 31 to November 3. Other plays include Miracle Worker December 12–15 Sunshine Boys two weekends January 30 to February 8 and in conjunction with Mount Dora Art Festival. The lineup also features The Lady's Not For Burning Tea and Sympathy A Street Car Named Desire, My Three Angels May 9–12 and a musical next summer. August Harvest Moon Flea Market at CofC Depot
The Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce plans an August Harvest Moon Flea Market starting at 9 a.m. this Saturday on the Depot office grounds downtown. Proceeds fund paving the CofC parking lot for the Baggage Meeting Room, with gift items and prize drawings. Pasco VFD limits damage at Orange Blossom junk yard fire
Pasco Volunteer Fire Department reports 16 volunteers responded to a Sunday fire at the Orange Blossom Junk Yard west of Mount Dora. Lightning struck a tree and an abandoned car, with about 300 gallons of water used to extinguish the blaze in roughly 30 minutes.
