Navy Seaman Oscar Jones Jr. son of Mr and Mrs Oscar Jones of 1912 Highland St Mount Dora returned to Long Beach California aboard USS Durham after transporting Marine units from Vietnam to Pacific assignments. W H McCullough of Mount Dora will receive Master of Divinity May 8 at Fort Worth Baptist Seminary. Five Mount Dorans are interning at Harry Anna Crippled Children's Hospital in Umatilla after completing Lake County Vocational Technical Center courses.

The Camellia Circle will host a picnic on May 5 at noon in Gilbert Park with club officers as hosts. Dr. Carl Bunde spoke last week at a joint Fran Carlton Club and Barbara Futch Club meeting offering guidance on lifestyle changes to support weight loss and fitness. The Mount Dora Ministerial Association will meet May 6 at First Presbyterian Church. Golden Triangle Grange 176 will meet May 8 at 6 pm in Gilbert Park for the social, with card playing at Mrs. E A Daniels’ home afterward.
