Ann Bowers Wins Jeanie Competition at Rollins College
Florida student Ann Bowers of Mount Dora, a Rollins College junior and music major, won the 1956 Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair contest in Sarasota. From 11 finalists she earned a $35 scholarship and will study further at Rollins with accompanist Miss Sandra Fogarty praising her soprano. Runners up received $250 scholarships. judges included officials from the National Federation of Music Clubs and Georgia State College for Women.
