Mount Dora Sail Boat Regatta Amidst Thrills and Courage

The third annual Mount Dora Sail Boat Regatta along Lake Dora featured wind tossed racing and near misses. Spectators saw brave youngsters, including Bradenton’s 12 year old W D Perry who steadied through a crash and withdrew a complaint after recognizing rough water. Winners spanned Windmill Pelican and Over 150 sailing area with crews from Jacksonville Miami and Palm Beach while Mount Dora entries placed third in a final pram race.

Larsen Slated For State Post

Fire Chief Harold Larsen is slated to become president of the Florida Fireman's association at its Lake City session opening today. Larsen, then vice president, urged City Council to attend and to send representation to an LPG instructor school in Ocala in May. Council approved paying his expenses and those of Capt.
