City Opposes Utility Bills
City Council urged County legislative delegation to oppose bills seen as antagonistic to city interests. Mayor Patton cited Florida Municipal Utilities Association concerns that the bills would curb city owned utilities, block annexed area takeovers, limit service within city territory, and remove tax exemptions for areas served outside city limits. He asked the council to object and inform State Sen. J. A. Boyd and Reps. Welborn Daniel and Carl Duncan.
