Area K 12 students invited to international art contest
Area Pre K 12 students may enter an October art contest themed What It Means To Be Me. WSIU, SIU Carbondale, and Prix Jeunesse International sponsor the event with judging by an international panel. 12 art winners will become posters and three grand prize trophies. Submission details include forms, original works, and mailed entries by October 28, 2015 to WSIU Public Broadcasting Carbondale Illinois.

Allendale ARFPD to display new tanker at steak supper
The Allendale Rural Fire Protection District will showcase its new tanker at the annual steak supper fundraiser at Allendale fire station on October 10 from 4 to 7 pm. Chief Brooks said the tanker may not be fully finished but Gerry's guarantees it will be at the station for public inspection before final delivery to Evansville after completing remaining details.
