Summers Reaches Halfway on Pacific Crest Trail
Mount Carmel resident Shawn Summers has reached the PCT midpoint at 1329 miles since starting May 3. He met fellow Mount Carmel hiker Michael Ewald at Donner State Park in Truckee, California as Ewald continues the trail in sections toward completion next year. Summers eyes finishing the remaining 1329 miles in about two months with 25 to 30 miles per day, aiming for late September to mid October completion.
