Wabash General directors meeting Mount Carmel
Wabash General Hospital Board of Directors will meet January 25 at 6 p.m. in the hospital boardroom. Safe Haven of Mount Carmel Women’s and Children’s shelter marks six months in operation and seeks volunteers and paid positions from volunteers. Donations of money time equipment concrete and expertise are welcome.

Softball Camp Offered at Wabash Valley College
WVC hosts a Softball Camp on February 6 and 13 in the Spencer Sports Center Gym for girls 7 to 17. Hitting and fielding times run 10 a.m. to noon with pitching 12 to 12 45 p.m. Costs range from 35 to 80 dollars depending on options. Registration deadline for a T-shirt is January 29.

Red Cross urges extra blood donations this winter
The American Red Cross calls for blood and platelet donations to avert a shortage. Holiday schedules in November and December reduced drives by 1,700 nationally, cutting donations by about 50,000 and shrinking available blood. Donors can schedule via the Red Cross Blood Donor App, redcrossblood.org, or 1-800-RED CROSS. January is National Blood Donor Month, observed since 1970 to boost winter collections amid weather, illness, and flu disruptions.
