Fire training drill uses donated house for controlled burns
Mount Carmel Fire Department led a training drill with six area departments including Evansville and Fairfield. Ten firefighters with no prior structural fire experience joined ten drills, observed fire growth, ventilation, and suppression methods while EMTs from Wabash General Hospital stood by. Property owner David McDaniel arranged asbestos tests and permits after a four month process and hopes to replace the home with a new house. his wife Linda supported donating the building for community training.
