Danbury Rape Case Mistrial Declared in Brim Trial
Judge Frank Armstrong declared a mistrial in the Danbury case of Wheeler Brim charged with raping Mrs. Ruby Rierson a year ago. Westfield Resident J A Nunn Dies After Illness
Funeral services for Joseph Alfonea Nunn 68 of Westfield Route 1 were held at Brown Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Simmons and Rev. Oscar Hartman officiating. First Annual July 4 Celebration Planned at Veterans Park
Mount Airy prepares for a large July 4 parade and celebration hosted by Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion at the new Veterans Memorial Park. Fred Royster of Henderson, president of the Tobacco Flue Cured Association, will speak on tobacco prices and livestock. The day features a parade with mules and a Moravian Band, prizes totaling about 450 dollars, 4-H and FFA baby beeves, pony races, and a park picnic with noonday broadcast over Station WSJS.
