A devastating blaze destroyed the Mount Airy Granite Cutting Co. plant Tuesday night as the city fire department failed to halt its spread. Local figures include J. W. Lovill and W. F. Lovill with ties to the city.
Miss Nancy Miller bride elect of June 2 was honored at a kitchen shower hosted by Frances Snow and Joyce Atkinson on Friday night June 18 at Mrs. A C Snow’s home in Siloam. Green and white decorations featured magnolia accents and a lace tablecloth framed the punch bowl. A gardenia corsage was given to Miss Miller as about 40 guests attended.
