Word from a Raleigh hospital says Hon. A D Folger is slowly recovering from a breakdown after the June primary. He sits up in a chair and is rolled about the ward though still very ill. Dobson Youth Dies in Fatal Friday Motorcycle Crash
Hassell Chappel age 19 of Dobson and cousin Ernest Chappell 23 of Thomasville Route 1 were killed in a High Point to Thomasville road crash about eleven Friday night. Hassell drove the motorcycle and was thrown through a car windshield. Mrs Williams of High Point was not blamed. Funerals were held Sunday for both men. Hassell is survived by his mother Luella and two brothers.

Two Men Injured in Saw Mill Boiler Explosion
Oscar Midkiff and Emmett Midkiff were severely burned when a boiler exploded at a saw mill off the Fancy Gap highway seven miles south of Hillsville. Oscar suffered facial and left body burns. Emmett, more seriously burned, was knocked back and rushed by Price Burnett to Martin Memorial Hospital.
