Miss Mount Airy Cindy Harris 1976 77 will compete for Miss North Carolina in Winston Salem on Saturday night. She departs Mount Airy this afternoon for a week of pageant prep including a talent prelim appearance Wednesday night at Salem Academy around 4 p m. Her wardrobe display prompted a joking remark from coordinator Steve Ball about her entrance.

Two Mount Airy Patrol Cars Damaged in Weekend Chases
Two Mount Airy Police Department patrol cars were wrecked in separate high speed chases over the weekend. One vehicle sustained 1500 dollars of damage on Wards Gap Road around 10 10 p.m. Saturday, the other about 50 dollars on U.S. 52 near the Virginia line at the chase end.
