Grayson Killer to Face Electric Chair in June
Posey Sexton of Grayson County has been moved to the state prison in Richmond Virginia to await execution by electric chair on June 15 set by the court. He was tried at Independence for the fatal shooting of Sheriff C C McKnight during a disturbance at a Grayson County home. The defense claimed insanity but the jury returned a death verdict and Sexton has since been in Wytheville jail for safety. Sheriff McKnight, a popular young official, was killed in a ruthless assault that shocked Grayson and Carroll counties.

Miss Eugenia Johnson of Martinsville underwent an appendectomy on Monday. Several patients including Mr. Hassel Yeates of Meadows of Dan and Mr. Curtis Nelson of Francisco suffer injuries from accidents. Macon Hollingsworth of Mount Airy had an appendectomy last week and Miss Mary Emeteria, also of Mount Airy, had tonsils removed. Several patients remain under care.

Lumber Truck Crash Injures Driver Curtis Nelson
Curtis Nelson was seriously injured Monday morning when a heavily loaded lumber truck overturned, wedging him between a tree and the lumber. He was taken to Martin hospital with serious injuries but is resting easier and expected to recover. The accident happened a few miles below Westfield.
