Gwaltney resigns as patrolman from State Highway Patrol

Children Set Fire To Gasoline

Services set for Saturday 2 p.m. at Union Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Jesse Dunbar and D. D. Hodges officiating burial in church cemetery. Grandsons to serve as pallbearers.

Second Fox Found to be Rabid in Surry County
A second fox in the Lowgap Roaring Gap area has been confirmed rabid by the State Laboratories after examination by telegram from the Surry County Health Department. Ora Brannock shot the animal near Longap after spotting odd behavior. the first rabid fox in the same area was killed by Brady Hice following its bite on a dog, cat, and chicken.
