A collision between a local driver Herman Chemnitz and a traveling salesman occurred three miles north of Moulton on Wednesday evening September 2. Mrs. Chemnitz suffered deep facial cuts from broken glass, and one child was thrown from the car with minor bruises. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.
Mrs D Schoenvogel came home Sunday after six months in El Paso visiting her daughter Mrs A O Dreyer.
Notice is given to property owners and interested parties that the first fall session of the Thirty-Ninth Texas Legislature will convene in Austin on September 18 1926. A bill will be introduced regarding road district No 3 Lavaca County creating the district validating orders bonds and taxes and declaring an emergency. Dated August 9 1926. The Sam and Will Moore Institute announces the 1926-27 echolatic session will begin Monday September 20 with Prof W E Smith presiding over a faculty including Mrs Smith Mr W A Kilers Miss Ernestine Mergenthaler Miss Hilda Wiedemann Miss Jewell Cone Miss Kathleen Preston and Miss Edith von Li nen. The school bond tax for the current year is set at 8 cents per $100 assessed valuation, unchanged from last year.
Local teachers including Prof. and Mrs. W. E. Smith Prof. W. A. Biler Miss Hilda Wiedemann Miss Jewel Cone Miss Kathleen Preston Miss Edith von Lienen Miss Ernestine Mergenthaler Mrs. George Hamon Miss Alice Kotzebue Miss Edna Reischl Miss Mildred Riske Miss Sydonia Hruska Miss Emily Darilek Miss Rosa Svoboda and Prof. J. Fr. Beal travel to Columbus for the teachers' institute.
Rev. and Mrs. A. H. Falkenberg were honored at a reception Sunday afternoon hosted by the Moulton Lutheran Frauen Verein at Luther Hall. A large crowd attended as refreshments were served. The pastor expressed thanks and urged church members to support the work ahead.
Official count for the August 28 Democratic runoff shows governor results Dan Moody 495,723 and Miriam A. Ferguson 270,595. Attorney general totals Claude Pollard 360,082 and James V. Allred 856,036. State treasurer figures W. Gregory Hatcher 409,829 and J. R. Ball 280,551.

The Fayette County Fair Association announces its third annual LaGrange fair from September 15 to 18. Four big days and nights. locals expect a strong turnout from Moulton and nearby areas. Read advertisement elsewhere in this issue for details.
Mrs. Smith Leazar has been ill at her home the past week. Mrs. Windel recently suffered paralysis and is a patient at the local hospital. Mrs. Louise Ammermann shows slight improvement after last week’s hospital admission. Mrs. J. A. Leazar, over 80, remains ill at her son Smith Leazar’s home.
The Moulton Lutheran Frauer Verein holds its annual bazaar at Luther Hall on Saturday September 11 beginning at 1 PM. Refreshments will be served and various useful articles will be sold. Everyone is invited to attend.
Miss Irma Linnartz resigns from the Texas Central Power Company as bookkeeper at this place and returns to Schulenburg where she has taken a job in a mercantile establishment.
Dr J G Guenther and his family move to LaGrange where he forms a medical partnership with brother Dr F J Guenther who runs LaGrange Hospital. He remains available in Moulton twice weekly for his son Dr J C Guenther who will assume his father’s work locally.
Cotton receipts in Moulton through 3 00 p m Wednesday total 3 721 bales.
Zions Lutheran Church invites all to Sunday School and Bible Class at 9 A. M. Morning services at Boursville 10, English service in Moulton 8 P. M. Pastors A. H. Falkenberg announces a goal to reach 125 attendees next Sunday. Confirmation class meets Saturday 9 A. M. Luther League Hall. bazaar Saturday 1 P. M. at the church.
