A letter from Adele Cordes explains starting a music class September 15 with a slight price increase. The notice lists numerous local visits and movements, including Miss Preston in Shiner, Mrs Quebedeaux in Shiver and Waelder,以及 others from San Antonio to Yoakum, Breslau land sale at $92 an acre, and various relatives traveling between towns.
Annie Mae Aruim departed Gonzales on Sunday for an unspecified destination. No further details accompany the brief notice.

Oswald Buescher presided as judge with William Weatcourt and Raymond Pusterovsky as assistants and Prof C Roeder and Adolph Wesaterhoff as clerks. Ballots: governor Bailey 96 Neff 35. lieutenant governor Davidson 53 Johnson 55. associate justice Pierson 66 Hawkins 45. State returns show Neff defeated Bailey by about 80,000 votes. Davidson nominated for lieutenant governor and Pierson for associate justice.

Mrs J W Nachlinger hosted the Forty two Club on August 25 with three tables and eight games. Winners were Mesdames Werner J Cordes Elo C Fehrenkamp Elizabeth Quebedeaux and Edwin Jaeggli. Quebedeaux drew the top prize a crocheted doily. Cordes drew the next prize a club pin. Ice cream and cake were served to present members and guests including Mrs Anton Kolar Elizabeth Quebedeaux Werner J Cordes Elo C Fehrenkamp Alfred C Rehmet Edwin Jaeggli Miss Laura Valenta and guests Mrs Guy T Haltom Port Arthur Miss Bertha Papacek Annie Mae Arnim Alice Roosevelt Arnim and Olga Valenta. Next meeting will be with Mrs Elo C Fehrenkamp.
Shiner Texas August 28 Miss Hivera Herder won a local contest to become sponsor for the Shiner fire department by more than six thousand votes. The inaugural ball drew visitors from surrounding towns. Miss Herder, sole child of Mr and Mrs Edmund Herder, is in the 1920 21 senior class of Shiner High School.
At a special school board meeting on Monday evening the decision was made to open the Sam and Will Moore Institute on Monday September 14. The faculty for the term includes Prof. C C Roeder as superintendent Prof. Henry Pochmann as principal and teachers Miss Ruby Meiners Miss Grace Hollan Miss Anita Pahrenthold Miss Zeeda Ware Miss Laura Mae McDonald Miss Lou McDonald.
Estevan Corales aged two years, five months, and two days died in Victoria Texas. Funeral was held at his residence with interment in Catholic Cemetery. He is survived by his wife and many children and grandchildren. Born March 16 1810 he came to the area early and was likely the oldest man in Victoria county or perhaps the state.

Miss Kathleen Preston and Mrs. Krueger both completed the University of Texas summer session exams. Preston earned a four year second grade certificate while Mrs. Krueger received a six year second grade certificate. Henry Kroeger hosted relatives and friends for Mrs. Krueger birthday anniversary with refreshments and cheerful moments.
