Moulton Lions Club Observes 75th Anniversary Meeting
The Moulton Lions Club held a regular luncheon at Story Cafe with about thirty members. Guests included County Superintendent William Eilers and County Judge Paul Fertsch. The meeting covered the Gillmer-Aiken education study, Lavaca County school consolidation, and the upcoming road bond election. Yoakum Boy Scouts presented a Campfire Opening Ceremony and Indian dances. Scoutmaster Micek reported on the national Boy Scout convention. Lions Carnival grossed $453.85.

Old Moulton Baptist Church marks 75th anniversary
The Old Moulton Baptist Church celebrated its seventieth fifth anniversary and Home Coming Day with morning, afternoon and evening services led by former and visiting pastors. A noon basket dinner followed on the church lawn with music provided by Aubrey Hopkins and others. The history traces back to 1873 when Moulton was founded and later renamed Old Moulton, with a list of pastors dating from 1879 to 1939 and notes on Mary D. Williford, a former member who later led a missionary school in China.
