Beaten Girl Found At Church In Seguin
A 17 year old Seguin girl Cindy Broz was discovered severely beaten inside Zion Hill Baptist Church on Oct 4 about 1 30 pm. She was knocked with a brick and taken to Guadalupe Valley Hospital then transferred to Methodist Hospital San Antonio in fair condition. Sheriff Leslie Kalies said the attacker fled and a suspect is being investigated with name withheld.

The market was fair and mostly steady across cattle hog and stocker categories. Packer cows and bulls remained steady. cow and calf pairs sold generally favorable with few high quality pairs. Hog prices were active and near last week levels. No 1 tops ranged 33.00 to 34.60 per cwt with other hogs 31.00 to 32.50.

James Novak of Flatonia won Best of Show a trip and a trophy for his chili at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas on October 17. He beat about 28 entries and will headline Flatonia’s upcoming chili cooking contest CHILISPIEL IV on October 22 23 and 24 1976.
