Brigadier Gen. Paul L. Wakefield says September figures show 5 611 Texans discharged from the armed forces while 4 772 entered service. Of the 4 772 new entrants 3 645 came by enlistment and 1 127 by induction from state draft boards.

Funeral services held for Gerhard H Mueller Cuero resident
Funeral services were conducted Monday at Freund Chapel for 73 year old Gerhard Henry Mueller of 303 South Gonzales Cuero. He died Saturday in a Cuero hospital after a long illness. Born February 25 1881 in Weimar he was the son of the late EFilert and Helen Mueller and survived by his wife two daughters four sons two brothers a sister and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Frank John Emil Bill Divin and Billie Dan Walorowski. Baker Funeral Home of Gonzales directed arrangements.
