Voters face eleven amendments and local issues in state election
Tuesday’s general election covers eleven constitutional amendments including funding state buildings from the Confederate pension fund and extending four year terms for county and precinct officials. It also raises debate on women serving on juries and raises pay for legislators. Gonzales county endorses measures on alcoholic beverages, farm roads, and joint rural civic action amid concerns the vote reflects broader regional tensions.
