Frank Biehunko Sr. a longtime Moulton merchant died at his home Friday October 16 after a lingering illness. Funeral held Sunday at 3 PM from the home with burial in Moulton Public Cemetery. He was 68 years old and survived by his widow, four sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren, and several siblings.
Charles Kocian Jr and Veruna Cinadr were married Tuesday morning at St Josephs Catholic Church in Moulton. Rev Joseph Kopp performed the ceremony. The bride's parents are Kasper and Mrs Cinadr. the groom's parents are Charles and Mrs Kocian, esteemed Ko mensky residents. The Eagle joins friends in extending best wishes.
Johnnie A. Mueller sold the Main Cafe and Bar to Jodie Meiserschlaeger and Joe Tousek. The new owners took charge October 14. Mueller has not announced future plans.
Heavy rains fell here Saturday and Sunday with 4% inches recorded. Stock water is plentiful and new grass is growing, putting stock in good condition for winter.
Rud Miculka and Miss Ange line Kokas united in marriage at St Josephs Catholic Church Tuesday morning. Rev Joseph Kopp conducted the ceremony. The bridegroom is son of Mrs Anna Miculka near Moulton. The bride is daughter of Mr and Mrs John Kokas of the Dickson School section. Both are prominent young people. The Eagle congratulates the newlyweds and wishes them blessedness.
Miss Wanda Will of Gonzales called at The Eagle office on Wednesday afternoon to renew her subscription to the paper.
The Moulton P T A held its October meeting at the Legion Hall. They decided to buy a victrola for the music department and announced a Halloween dance on October 31 and a play directed by Miss Lewis on November 9. Afterward a social hour featured 42 with high scores awarded to Mrs Ed Biehunke and W E Smith. refreshments were served.
Tax Assessor-Collector E A Turk and deputies will be in Moulton Friday and Saturday October 29 and 30 to collect state and county taxes for the current year.
Yoakum hosts Seguin Friday night as Moulton fans attend the game. Yoakum wins 19 to 12, sealing the high school football matchup at Yoakum.
The civics class from Moulton High School visited Austin to observe a legislative session and tour sights. Mrs Julius Krejci served as chaperon.
Lightning struck and killed a valuable horse owned by the Tom Muehlstein sons in Baursville Sunday morning during a rain storm.
Mr. Edgar Smith and family of Port Lavaca and Mr. Henry Raabe and family of Victoria were recent visitors in the Mrs. E. Kiesehnik home. Mrs. Louise Pieper, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Pieper and Mr. and Mrs. Erwart Raab of Houston were Sunday visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Raab.
Mayor and Mrs. F. T. Fehrenkamp spent a day in Austin visiting relatives. Mayor Fehrenkamp also called on Prof. William Eilers, the former superintendent of schools here.
O F and Mrs Knape gratefully acknowledge receiving a complimentary season pass to the Gonzales County Fair and Pecan Exposition to be held in Gonzales from October 26 to 30. Claude Jones of Harwood was in Moulton Saturday on business. Jones formerly led Evergreen school at Henkhaus and has served at Harwood school for three years.
The Moulton Boy Scout troop and scoutmaster Marvin Mer rem prepare to attend the area wide Boy Scout Circus in Austin on October 29 and 30. Eight counties form the Capitol Area Council with 80 troops. G G Fisbeck and family and Emil J Jaluska with daughter Jeanette attended Fayetteville home coming sponsored by the Catholic congregation. The affair was largely attended.
Mr. and Mrs. John Perrard of Moulton celebrated their golden wedding with immediate family. He is 78 and she 70, both in good health. They have five children George, John, Edmund, Anton, and Mrs. Ed Berger, plus 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Attendees include J. P. Gorney and Stephen Pospisel. The Eagle offers congratulations.
Anton Pavias and Mrs. Mary Schacherl of near Moulton wed at St Joseph's Catholic Church Monday morning with Rev Joseph Kopp officiating. The Eagle extends congratulations and best wishes.
Move by Town Bill Novosad and his family to Moulton from Oak Grove. They occupy the Ullmann place near the Lutheran Church. Novosad will work at Kolar Motor Sales.
A Sunday afternoon gathering at Rev. and Mrs. A. H. Falkenberg celebrated Mrs. Falkenberg’s birthday anniversary with friends, conversation, and refreshments.
The city reports the Stork visited on Wednesday October 13 and placed a bouncing baby boy in the care of Mr. and Mrs. Ad Prasek. The baby is named Franklin. The Eagle offers congratulations to the parents.
A Sunday thunderstorm spawned a tornado that wrecked a large barn on the Charles Koes ter place near Baursville. Debris littered a wide area as the barn lay in ruins.
Jacob Faschingbauer died at Nepal near Yorktown on Wednesday October 13 at 11 40 AM aged 65 years 5 months and 19 days He was a native of Austria who settled in Texas at age 12 He leaves six children seven grandchildren and several siblings Funeral services were held at Zion s Lutheran Church and interment was in Mou ton Public Cemetery
Adolph Mikes and Edith Krejci wed at St Joseph Catholic Church Monday in Dickson. Prominent residents Mr and Mrs Frank Krejci and Mrs Frank Mikes attend as newlyweds begin married life. The Eagle extends best wishes for a long happy life together.
Henry J. Strauss of Balliettsville reports Lavaca County ginned 24 901 bales of 1937 crop before October 1, up from 5 974 by the same date last year, according to the Commerce Bureau of Census.
The American Legion Ninth District holds its convention in Schulenburg on Sunday October 24. The American Legion Band of Moulton will perform to entertain attendees. Local post members should contact Adjutant William Mikuška before Saturday.
Mr and Mrs W F Crozier of Selma Texas celebrate the birth of a daughter named Carrol Lynn born Tuesday October 5. Mrs Crozier was formerly Miss Tillie Raab of Moulton. The Eagle notes the happy occasion in this local family milestone.
