John Mikulik returned Tuesday from Palestine while Miss Martha Hinock invited Yoakum friends Tuesday. Miss Millie Miculka visited in Yoakum Tuesday afternoon and Doe Mikulik returned to Yoakum Tuesday after visiting Ko Mensky with home folks.
From Our Exchange notes Moulton gains a new State bank poised for success amid strong farm country support. The item mentions Waelder New Era and various local visitors including Boehm of Moulton attending events and a Rimmanneville wedding. Also reports a Thanksgiving program at the Methodist church and several local marriage notices.
Mr Oswald Buescher and his wife Anna with Rud Jaeggli and partners leave for Smithville where Mr Buescher buys an interest in the Ford business. The Eagle extends best wishes for health and happiness in their new home.
Lavaca County American Red Cross met at Hallettsville naming H. J. Rosenberg as chairman and Ferdacy as vice chairman for the year. Other officers include Mrs. W. T. Bagby secretary Miss Sallie Bagby executive secretary Bruno Cohn treasurer with standing and special committees listed and branch chairs for Shiner Moulton Hallettsville New Era.
The column reports Rud Jaeggli & Bro selling sugar at eight pounds for one dollar. Residents Rud Jaeggli and Reinbold Huwebner visited Alice from William Hillmer’s home. Lawrence Taylor returned from Cuero after turkey trot attendance. Moultonites attended Cuero event in large numbers. Willie Koester sold his southern Montgomery tract and bought Frank Koester’s adjacent property near Ed Studeman. Mr and Mrs Willie Kneisler returned from Tampico Mexico to visit family. A baby girl was born to Dr P O Puck and wife. best wishes extended. Arthur T Willberg and family moved to Rowena with household effects. Oswald Buescher resigned from Moulton School Board due to relocation to Smithville. successor not yet named.

J A Sommerlatte defeats C L Stavinoha for county judge by 333 votes, E T Long loses county clerk to Joe Bozka by 261, Luke Greer defeats Jim Canon for sheriff by 790, Rud Vaienta loses tax assessor to Joe Munsch by 231, and Congressman Joseph Jefferson Mansfield wins county seat over James W Rugeley by 94.
Miss Viola Hruck becomes cashier at Kad, Boehm's Sons. Alma Tempho of Oakland visits uncle Otto Templin near town. Mrs. Helen Aschenbeck wed to Mr H Hewgatter after moving to Burlington. Edward Boehm sailed from Bordeaux November 10 and may return soon. Hovkheim Fire and Storm Insurance adds insuring feedstuffs and household goods. John Harti and family move from Dreyer to occupy Gil Cottage. Hart opens blacksmith shop in old Felix Tilicek stand.
The fourth Red Cross roll call began Armistice Day and continues through Thanksgiving Day. Committees solicit membership as twenty million Christmas seals are planned for Texas, with sales starting December 1 to fight tuberculosis. Bud Jaeggli & Bro.
The government crop report shows 2,502,524 bales ginned in Texas this year up to October 25, versus 999,191 bales same period last year. Ia vaca county ginnings are 39,78 bales, compared with 3,598 bales on the same date last year.
Adolph Mikulik and Miss Len nie Jemelka were married at the Catholic church in Moulton Monday morning November 15 with Rev Father Sykora of Shiner officiating. They are prominent local young people and left for Waco Monday afternoon for their honeymoon. The Eagle wishes them a long and happy life.
Emil Klobedans and Eugene Anders have opened a new garage in the old Guy T. Halton stand, next to Henry Krause’s produce store. Klobedans has long resided here and Anders is brother to local Oscar Anders. The Eagle wishes them success.
Mrs. Ernst Pelzel hosted the Catholic Ladies' Aid Society gathering on Wednesday November 2. Refreshments were served. The next meeting is planned with Mrs. Joe Etlinger on Tuesday November 23.
Next Sunday November 21 services in Moulton at 10 30 am. On November 25 at 10 30 am Thanksgiving and Erntedankfest services in Moulton. Everyone heartily welcome. H A Heineke Pastor.
Moulton Branch of the Farmers Union will hold a meeting at the Opera House on Sunday November 21 at 1 30 PM.
Miss Annie Mae Arnim hosted the Forty two Club on Tuesday afternoon November 9. Seven games were played with Mrs. A. B. Rehmet winning a guest towel. Mesdames Vince Rehmet and H. A. Menefee drew for the pin, Menefee drawing the lucky number. Present were Mesdames John Brusschaeter Elo Vehrenkamp Anton Kolar A. Menefee C. C. Rehmer and I. J. Wagner. Guests included Misses Erna Hillmer Evelyn Richter Sophia Krause and Valentiva Krause. The next meeting will be with Mrs. H A. Menefee.
Albert Brom and Miss Augustina Machart united in marriage at the Catholic church in Shiner on Tuesday November 9. Rev Father Wolf performed the ceremony. The bride wore white silk messaline trimmed with Georgette crepe and orange blossoms. Five bridesmaids dressed in white accompanied the couple. Escorts included Frank Machart Christian Brom Tou Dolezal Frank Machart and Tom Rothbaur. The groom is a Nickle native, son of Mr and Mrs John Brom. The bride is daughter of Mr and Mrs Frave Machart. Congratulations to the newlyweds.
Henry Ettinger the local Ford dealer unloaded five carloads of Ford automobiles during the past week the largest shipment of automobiles ever received there in one week. Ettlinger is now positioned to supply the trade with different types of automobiles from the Ford factory.
The regular meeting of the Dovisville Lutheran Frauen Verein was held with Mrs. Emil Schmidt on Wednesday of last week. Delicious refreshments were served. The next meeting will be with Mr. H. F. Mueller on Wednesday, November 24.
