The Moulton Lutheran church holds services Sunday at 10 30 in the morning and an annual congregational meeting at 2 in the afternoon.
Texas corn crop estimated at 192 478 000 bushels and federal highway aid of 4 425 172 dollars. Deaths include Judge James N Browning former Texas lieutenant governor. Survivor Norman O Walker arrives in Commerce on furlough. M P Swain of Floy dada dies from windmill fall leaving widow and nineteen children. 100th anniversary of Stephen F Austin era observed. The Boys Basketball team played Breslau on the Breslau campus last Wednesday with a 15 to 5 score in favor of Moulton. Social notes show Mr and Mrs Powell visiting relatives in Bastrop county over the weekend and Mr Powell hunting, displaying a large timber wolf at Biehucko's store Monday.
Private Emil J Rosenauer died of wounds from action in France on October 3 1918. He arrived November 10 and lay in state at his mother's Breslau home before burial at Flatonia Catholic cemetery. He served in Co C 23rd Infantry and was 25. Survived by wife Mrs Ed Opella, a son, mother, three brothers and four sisters.
Hon. Sam C. Lackey will lecture for the United Campaign for Better Agriculture at Hallettsville courthouse on November 19 at 1 p.m. The meeting urges Lavaca county farmers and Farm Bureau members to attend to discuss maintaining diversified farming and preventing a rise in cotton acreage. John Kloppenburg, vice-chairman, endorses the event.
Mrs Rode and the baby with Miss Esther Hannenmann left for Rosenberg Tuesday. Mr Ernest Merrem and family and Leona Merrem with son and Miss Helen Piekha spent Armistice Day in Schulenburg. Jerome Michael Post No 94 American Legion of Flatonia gave away a Ford car on Armistice Day won by A W Albrecht. A bouncing baby boy arrived at the home of Mr and Mrs Willie Schroeder Saturday night. The Eagle congratulates Edmund Etlinger and family, Mrs Helen Kotzebue and daughters Marie Goetz and George Mebner visited Gonzales and Seguin last week. Mr August Kotzebue and family with Miss Gladys Smith and Miss Rose Meyer. Anton Greive and Dewey Baugh attended the reunion of the 90th Division in San Antonio last week. Mrs G J Bohnenkamp left for San Antonio Tuesday to visit granddaughter at Erich Brunkenhoefer home. The Eagle extends congratulations and best wishes.
A team led by F. G. Sherman and William Todd tested Moulton's water pressure with demonstrations across the city. The test showed satisfactory results though the town lacks drilled firefighters. A committee seeks to organize a local fire company at once to improve readiness.

The Moulton Light and Ice Company received its charter Tuesday. Incorporators include F. T. Fehrerkamp Hol Boeby J. T. Jaegli Dr. J. G. Guenther and H. G. Bargmann.
The Moulton Home and School Club met Friday with four new members joining. The treasurer reported 611.70 on hand as plans for the November 19 bazaar were finalized. Members will provide a dish for a combined turkey dinner and booths feature varied sale items to attract Christmas shoppers.
Fire of unknown origin Thursday afternoon November 10 destroyed nine stacks of feedstuffs belonging to Emil Vogt of Omensky six miles east of here. Loss estimated at about $350.
County Chairman J M Canon of Shiner heads the Red Cross membership drive for Lavaca county with Armistice start and ending on Thanksgiving Day. Mrs Ed Studeman leads the Molton effort. The campaign opened brilliantly with 91 members enrolled the first day. The annual fee is 1 dollar. Join today.
Lavaca County cotton statistician T. J. Fitch of Yoakum called in from the city to report Lavaca county ginnings up to November 1 totaling 5 033 bales. This compares with 40 744 bales for the same date last year.
The annual Bazaar and Dinner will be held with article sales starting at 11 a.m. Children up to 12 years pay 35c for dinner, lunch 20c. No dinner invitation sent to youths. all are welcome.
Rain would help fall gardens and Culak School notes include visits from Charles Zavesky of Hallettaville with his parents and attendance at the Moulton dance. Local families Gust Hoff and others hosted guests with parties at L Jansson’s and Armistice Day gatherings. The Kaelker Marburger wedding at Breslau drew Walter Marburger Misa Hilda and Otto Marburger, with extended visits to Gust Huff and family and a Sweet Sixteen celebration.
Two Mrs Brown and children left for San Antonio after a two week visit to relatives here. Arthur Sebute and son visited Paul Wenske. Emma Foster, Anton Stange, and sons visited Paul Wenske. Peter Hanslik spent last Sunday with Leo Wenske. Charles Wensky visited Shiner. William Kortwig and wife visited Max Prause. Fravuk Barta builds tenant house for son Albin and wife for their future home.
Ignatz Vita of Rural Route No 1 told The Eagle last Saturday he sold six gobblers for 20.50 dollars. He commented that turkey money beats raising cotton.
Andrew Yaraba near town received two Holstein cows and one heifer last Friday from Dr. J. E. Wilkins of Greenville. The note says more farmers are buying well bred stock to improve their herds.
