Canning Demonstration Draws Large Local Attendance

A canning demonstration was held at the American Legion Hall on Friday afternoon May 19 supervised by Miss Della Pfluger Lavaca county agent. Many ladies from Moulton and nearby attended as talks covered canning methods budgets and pantry displays.

Safe Found In Green Lake During Picnic

A heavy iron safe missing from F. K. Urncir’s Komensky home on May 8 was discovered Sunday afternoon by picnickers bathing in Green Lake near Peach Creek eight to ten miles northwest of Moult. The safe lay about five feet under water with its bottom knocked out and contents removed. a heavy iron bar and a rubber glove box were also found. Monday search located the safe door knob and a metal box from inside the safe, and officers vow to press the case.

Thursday May 18 the Bridge Club was hosted by Mrs Sam Jaeggli. Four tables of players competed with Mrs F F Heger winning high honors and six glasses awarded. Mrs Henry Earl Kotzebue led guests with lingerie prize. Miss Evelyn Richter received a hat pad set in consolation. A two course lunch featured tomato cup sandwiches pickles ice cream and cakes.
