A canning demonstration was held at the American Legion Hall on Friday afternoon May 19 supervised by Miss Della Pfluger Lavaca county agent. Many ladies from Moulton and nearby attended as talks covered canning methods budgets and pantry displays.
A heavy iron safe missing from F. K. Urncir’s Komensky home on May 8 was discovered Sunday afternoon by picnickers bathing in Green Lake near Peach Creek eight to ten miles northwest of Moult. The safe lay about five feet under water with its bottom knocked out and contents removed. a heavy iron bar and a rubber glove box were also found. Monday search located the safe door knob and a metal box from inside the safe, and officers vow to press the case.
Mueller Bros. local hardware dealers sponsor a letter writing contest. The winning letter earns the store displayed in the Mueller Bros. window. If you have not written your letter, visit the store for particulars as the contest closes Saturday.
Mrs C W Morrow along with Misses Dorothy Arnold Grace Morrow and Gertrude Benbow of Yoakum visited the R B Papacek residence Sunday returning from a social call and gathering.

Prof. Charles W. McDonald Henry Balhorn Henry Kahlich and Emil Vogt fished at Duncan's Point last week. The group found the bite slow but McDonald managed a three foot alligator catch to bring home.

The Moulton Public Schools end a nine month term on Friday June 2 with six graduates all boys: Daniel Darilek George Puste jovsky Julius Krejci August Etlinger LeeRoy Meiserschlaeger and Johnnie Mladenko. Wallace Casey and Hubert Walston left Saturday for San Antonio to enlist in the national forestry service. Mrs Kern of Vernon widow of the late Rev Karl Kern was in Moulton last week visiting Mrs E Westerhoff.
Mr. Ad A Haas and family of Moulton and Mr. Henry Seiden berger and sister Miss Ella of Shiner were recent visitors in Goliad.
Governor Miriam A Ferguson signed a bill calling a Texas election for August 26 to repeal the 18th amendment and to legalize 3.2 percent beer. The same date would also mark a convention on ratification to repeal the amendment.

Emil Grunwald John Mang and Rud Haas attended the Hochheim Prairie Mutual Fire and Storm Association annual convention at Yoakum last week as delegates from Branch No 13 of Moulton.
A Lavaca County Red Cross meeting at Hallettsville courthouse updates officers and flour distribution before June 1. Moulton prepares a morning May 28 memorial service led by the American Legion Band with Fire Department members in parade prominence.
The Moulton St Josephs Society will hold its regular meeting at the Parish Hall on Sunday June 4 beginning at 1 30 oclock in the afternoon. Officers for the ensuing year will be elected delegates to the state convention chosen and other important business transacted. All members urged to attend.
Dr F F Heger of Moulton announces that after June 1 his office moves to the Henry Koester Jr building on West Second street and will be used as a hospital. The Eagle notes the community will welcome such an institution.
The Timber Wolves fell 11 to 10 to the Dickson Plow Boys on Sunday after a prior 18 to 8 win on May 14. Hard-to-Ware, managed by Johnnie Mueller, defeated Boursville 10 to 9 with batteries listed as Krejci Zavesky Inka for Hard-to-Ware and Pavlicek Fevlicek for Boursville.
Two hundred eleven tickets were sold for the dance held Sunday night at Hermann Park Hall. The event was sponsored by the Ladies' Auxiliary of Geier-Merrem Post No. 892, American Legion.

The Moulton Lutheran Sunday School held a yearly picnic in the Fehrenkamp pasture. T W Falkenberg of Taylor gave an address followed by a fine dinner served by the Ladies. Participants, young and old, enjoyed various games before brief services at 6 o clock and the group departed home.
Rose Nell Mace celebrated her second birthday on Thursday May 18 at the home of her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John Mladenko. Refreshments included soda water cake and sandwiches with fish shaped favors. Guests gave gifts and wished many more happy birthdays.
Thursday May 18 the Bridge Club was hosted by Mrs Sam Jaeggli. Four tables of players competed with Mrs F F Heger winning high honors and six glasses awarded. Mrs Henry Earl Kotzebue led guests with lingerie prize. Miss Evelyn Richter received a hat pad set in consolation. A two course lunch featured tomato cup sandwiches pickles ice cream and cakes.
Flatonia triumphed 5 to 2 over Moulton on the Flatonia diamond Sunday afternoon. Ellinger will travel to Moulton next Sunday for another game. Come out and root for the home boys.
