Canning Demonstration At Moulton May 19

One hundred one enthusiastic farm people attended a week of canning demonstrations in Mt. Olive Thompson Baursville Oak Grove Charlottenburg and Green communities. Demonstrations showed wax beans green beans carrots cabbage squash beets spinach English peas kohl rabi chinese cabbage dewberries and chicken canned using pressure cooker. A canning session will be held at the American Legion Hall in Moulton on May 19 at 1 30 PM. Districts lacking dates include Speaks Ezzell Koerth Moravia and Vienna.

Celebrate Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary Schoenweitz Couple

Mr and Mrs Joseph Schoenweitz of Moulton celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the Joe Zemlicka home near town. A large gathering enjoyed a dinner and dancing with Kubicek band. Schoenweitz is 74 and his wife 7 they have five children and nineteen grandchildren.

Residents criticize Moulton mail service noting the night mail arrives too late for same day distribution after the dinkie was discontinued. Local trains No 51 southbound arrives at 8 42 AM and No 52 northbound at 10 20 PM as part of the schedule.

Moulton Eagles Fall to LaGrange on Local Diamond

The Moulton Eagles lost 6 to 3 on their home diamond as LaGrange defeated them. Walston pitched well for Moulton with 16 strikeouts. Moulton travels to Flatonia next Sunday.

Senior Play Night Aboard Ship Theme Honors Class of '33

Miss Lydia Koester hosted a senior play party at the Henry Koester Jr. home honoring the Class of '33. Guests arrived to blue and white decor, photos, and ticket drawings, with Daniel Darilek captain and Joyce Kopecky top girl scorer. Games, prizes, punch and sandwiches led to deck dining and dancing as the evening closed with thanks to Miss Koester.

LaGrange Woman Killed In Auto Wreck Near Brenham

Mrs. C. H. Steinmann 51 of LaGrange died in a Sunday morning auto crash near Brenham while en route to College Station. Her husband, two sons and a daughter survive. Injured in the crash were Mr. Steinmann, Otto Willrich, O. T. Willrich, and Lorena Kruse. Funeral services were held in La Grange.
