Farm Bureau to distribute 13256 dollar insurance dividends

Farm Bureau insurer Mr. Herman Hanslik announced at a county meeting that 13256 dollars in insurance dividends will be paid to about 639 FB policy holders. Dividends equal half annual premiums for the year ending March 31, 1955, with semi annual payments.

Lions Discuss Parade Outcome at Thursday Lions Club Meeting

The Lions Club reviewed the two day Project Show and Sale which it co-sponsored and praised the cooperative effort that benefited students clubs and the town. They debated sending two youths under 16 to the Kerrville Crippled Children's Camp, not yet decided. The group will sponsor a high school student for Boys State in Austin and repair and expand benches at Lions Field for May Little League and Pony League games.

Dullye Sparks Moulton Victory With Two Home Runs

Moulton beat Sheridan 10 to 0 Friday as Larry Dullye pitched a one hit game and homered twice with a grand slam opportunity. Michalee Svatek J Machalec B Machalec Sechar all scored in support while C Williams allowed 5 hits for Sheridan. Previous Tuesday Hallettsville edged Moulton 10 to 9 in district play.

Suits Needed For Pony Leaguers

The Moulton Civic Group, sponsor of both the Moulton Pony League and Little League teams, seeks 15 suits for players ages 13 to 14. Some have been pledged, others are still needed. Donations may be directed to Mr Luksovsky to support local youth athletic activity and character building through competitive play. Practices have been on Saturdays at Lions Field and may move to two weeknights.

Gonzales Broiler Festival Planned for May 13 17

The Texas Broiler Festival will be held in Gonzales May 13 through 17 with at least 300 contestants from 4-H and FFA Texas boys and girls. Moulton Theatre to Re Open Under New Owners

The Moulton Theatre will reopen soon after purchase by Mr and Mrs Bill Reeves from Mr and Mrs Emil Grunwald who ran it for years. Minor remodeling and painting are planned before the return of moviegoers including local students and adults.

Piano Students To Present Programs At Two Venues

Mrs J T Jaeggli announces two piano recitals by her students. The first will be at St Josephs School auditorium on Sunday May 8 at 8 pm. the second at Public High School Gym on Monday May 16 at 8 pm. The public is invited.

State budget cuts eyed to avert new taxes in district

Senate acts on a constitutional amendment to let the Veterans Land Board issue 100 million in bonds for veteran land loans. A gas tax and cigarette beer tax hikes face battle while a jail credit bill passes. The Low Colorado River Authority seeks 15 million more bonds to fund dam projects. Public hearing on the tax bill is May 2 at 2 30 p m with days of discussion expected. A 4 percent state spending reduction is proposed to avoid new district taxes.

Eagles Win Over Ammannsville 8-6

The Moulton Eagles beat Ammannsville 8 to 6 in SCTL play to claim their first league win. D Kozelsky pitched well despite a rough ninth inning when Ammannsville scored five runs aided by three hits, three walks, a hit by pitch and two Moulton errors. J Kubicek led the offense with three hits.
