Mr and Mrs August Muehstein of Moulton are the proud parents of a girl born Friday February 27 at 6 30 PM at Dr Strieder Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce and is named Carolyn Ann.
Miss Kirvey Brueggmann leaves Tuesday for Austin to attend the Central Texas Beauty College. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Rudie Brueggmann and a Moulton High School graduate of the class of 1946.
The Texas Highway Department releases its Spring Edition travel maps for public distribution. The four color map shows changes through December and postwar road-building, with color pictures, a governor message, and standard signs. Copies available at the Austin office, 25 district offices, and nine information bureaus at ports of entry.
A baby boy was born at 3 A M at Dr Strieder Hospital weighing 8 pounds 3 ounces. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Louis Fishbeck formerly Miss Sidonia Beran of Moulton. The newborn has established headquarters at the Fishbeck home since March 1.
Mr and Mrs Charlie Filipp Mrs Alfred Filipp and son Mr and Mrs Johnny Dietschke and children and Edwin Kurtz all of Moulton attended the funeral services of their grandfather Mr Frank Janda Sr in Shiner Monday morning.
Mrs. Rosetta Gibson died at her home near Moulton on March 2 at age 70. Funeral services were held March 4 at the Dehl Funeral Home with Rev. C. E. Bottorff officiating. Interment followed in Moulton City Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, four daughters, one stepdaughter, a sister, twelve grandchildren, eight step grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A Red Cross drive in Lavaca County aims to raise 1800 dollars by March 15 with local chairmen assigned across towns and school districts.
Troop No. 235 enjoyed a camping outing on Sunday February 29 at Camp Wagner near Shiner. Attendees included Melvin Pilsner Alexander Kotzebue Victor Janacek Edward Kram Dennis Ermis Gary Wagner Daniel Kozelsky Eugene Boehm Bobby Pavlas Daniel Jaluska Edward Haiek Franklin Kozelsky Kenneth Steinacher Adolph Prasek Marvin Lenhart Benjamin Svoboda. Scouters were Edmund Kram Adolph Ermis William Meyer Adolph Wagner and Rev. John Matocha. They spent the day working on cooking requirements and playing games.
Mrs Anton Faltisek sustained a rib fracture in a fall at her home recently and is recovering nicely.
Frank Frysak, 79, died in Inez Texas on Sunday February 29. The funeral was held in Inez on Tuesday March 2 with services at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moulton followed by burial at Moulton Catholic Cemetery.
Mr and Mrs Edwin Kurtz greet a baby boy named Calvin Joe born Thursday February 26 at Shiner Hospital. Mother is Gladys Schacherl former Miss Gladys Schacherl daughter of Adolph and Mrs Schacherl of Flatonia.
The Moulton Fire Department answered a 9 am call to the home of Frank Castro and Emily Monday when a stove exploded spreading flames. The house on Highway 95 was a total loss with furnishings clothing and $50 cash inside. Castro estimates losses at $3500. the couple had occupied the new home for 20 days and had no insurance.
The Moulton Parent-Teachers Association will hold its March meeting on Tuesday March 9 instead of the regular Wednesday slot. Mr Dibble will discuss The Weeds Intolerance Hatred Prejudice and Ignorance. A general sing sing will follow the business session.
Pfc. Thomas L. Doubrava, stationed overseas in Germany, completed six weeks of study at the European Command Signal School. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mary Doubrava of Moulton.
Mrs Larry Wenske is recovering nicely after an operation at Crews Hospital in Gonzales. She has returned home.
