Mang Family Reunion Held in Seguin on Father’s Day

Descendants of Jim Mang gathered at the Max Starne Park Seguin on Sunday June 15 with 59 attendees including six of eight children. Thomas K Mang of Gonzales was elected president and Louis Schmardt secretary treasurer as the group planned annual reunions. Members from Moulton and Lubbock attended along with Seguin residents.

Hallettsville Victoria Highway Approved

Federal aid approval for State Highway No. 295 from Hallettsville to Victoria and a $627,000 grading and drainage contract expected to be let in July. The Victoria County section of the highway has already been completed.

Large Animal Clinic Opens Soon in Schulenburg

Schulenburg announces the Scawenourg veterinary hospital will open July 1 under Dr. Dan H. Saunders owner. The large animal facility includes a drive in clinic for trucks and trailers and is advertised as one of the best equipped in the Southwest. Falls From Wagon Cause Leg Fracture

Fred Koester sustained a fracture of his left leg below the knee in a Monday fall from a wagon load of feed. The load toppled the wagon, dragging him down with it. He received treatment at Dr Streicher hospital and is now resting at home.

Edmund A. Jaeggli died in San Antonio on June 11 at age 75. Funeral services were held June 12 at 3:00 P M at the Riebe Funeral Home. Interment followed at St Johns Lutheran Cemetery. Survivors include his widow Bertha Jaeggli a son Victor Jaeggli a daughter Mrs Lucille Martin two sisters one brother and four grandchildren.

State Health Official Reports Lavaca Typhus Program Ends

H F Shaper from the State Health Department told The Eagle the Lavaca County typhus research program will terminate on June 30. Next week the Fish and Wildlife Service with the Health Department will conduct a no cost rat killing program in Mouton, urging citizen cooperation with the trained crew.

Tom Tom Celebration Draws Large Crowds

The eighth annual Tom Tom celebration in Yoakum drew large crowds over three days. Governor Beauford Jester led the parade and gave a brief address. Miss Jean Moore and Pete Mathew were crowned queen and king. Moulton was represented in the procession by Duchess Marjorie Papécek and escort Tommie Hoyer, with junior coronation by Bonnie Lou Reindl and A Jarosek.

Mrs. Meta Henrichs Dies at 93 in Texas Community

Mrs Meta Henrichs died at her Shiner home Wednesday June 11 at 7 30 PM. Funeral services were held June 13 at Ohl Funeral Home Moulton with burial in Moulton City Cemetery. She was born in Germany January 25 1854 and came to Texas as a child settling in Lavaca County. She married Gerhard Henrichs in 1873 who died in 1939. Surviving are six children Henry Witting William John August and Bernhard Henrichs and 14 grandchildren.

E I Stalmach Dies at 54 in Smithville

E I Stalmach a leading Smithville businessman aged 54 died Saturday of a heart attack. Burial followed Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville. He was well known in Moulton and taught school here for about twenty years, survived by two sisters and four brothers, and his wife Mrs. Stalmach formerly Miss Millie Mikeska.
