Moulton Boy Becomes Military Instructor

Captain Leon Kotzebue, once a Moulton boy, has been appointed instructor in the Military College in New York City. He will teach Military Science and Tactics for four years. Cap. Kotzebue and family depart June 10 by auto, stopping in Tulsa to visit his brother Meinhard and traveling through Birmingham, Memphis, Little Rock, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Washington.

County Car Purchase Approved by Court in 1929

In Lavaca County the court minutes show an application for automobile allowance for Sheriff Gene Houchins. The motion passed with three votes yes, one absent, the county judge opposed. A sedan was ordered to be advertised with bids opened March 23, 1929 at 10 am.

Weimar Wildcats Defeat Moulton Eagles 6 to 4

The Weimar Wildcats beat the Moulton Eagles 6 to 4 on the former's diamond Sunday afternoon. Weimar led 3-1 after the first and extended the advantage with two more runs in the sixth. Eagle batters pushed one across in the seventh but could not catch up.

Short Course At Victoria

A three day Farmers Short Course and Encampment will be held at Rio Vista Park Victoria from June 18 to 20. The event, hosted by the Farmers Luncheon Club with support from the Agricultural College of Texas, is free and open to all ages. Williamson Dies After Lingering Illness in Flatonia

C A Williamson aged 63 died at his home in Flatonia Texas after a lingering illness. He leaves a wife two sons and two daughters. Burial was held Thursday afternoon with Rev Long, Methodist Episcopal minister of Waelder, officiating.

Local residents report visits and travels across Texas

Moulton and surrounding towns noted numerous visits and departures this week. Residents including Mrs. Quebedeaux, F. W. Arnim, Edwin Jaeggli, and others traveled to Houston, Corpus Christi, Beeville, San Antonio, San Saba, and San Marcos. Attendees celebrated the Tom-Tom Parade in Yoakum and gatherings at Mathis and Robstown. Mrs Edna Reisch of Moulton was re elected to a teaching post for the coming scholastic term.

Girl Scouts Enjoy Outing Across Camp Sites

Girl Scouts traveled starting May 27 for a camping trip visiting Morrison Falls Seguin Shriner Camp near Boerne and Rio Vista Lodge Kerrville. They swam, rode boats played baseball and attended a dance at Rio Vista Lodge before returning home via San Antonio.

Early Morning Wedding in Catholic Church

Miss Helen Seidenberger and Mr. Edwin R. Wurzbach wed at 6 0'clock Wednesday in a Catholic ceremony officiated by Rev. Father Joseph Kopp. The bride wore an orchid dress with pink carnation bouquet. Emma Hinch was bridesmaid with daisies. Best man was Joe Steinle of San Antonio. The couple plans to reside on a ranch near San Antonio after a breakfast at the Hrnci home and a party where a friendship box was given to the bride.
